Dry Bath – Shaking
The Dry Bath Shaking Incubator range from Vertex Analytical combines heating, cooling, and sample mixing within a compact benchtop system designed for routine laboratory workflows. These systems support temperature-controlled shaking for microtubes, centrifuge tubes, cryovials, microplates, and other laboratory sample formats. As a result, the units are suitable for molecular biology, enzyme reactions, sample preparation, incubation, and clinical laboratory applications.
The range includes heating, heating/shaking, heating/cooling, and heating/cooling/shaking configurations. Interchangeable modules also allow laboratories to adapt the instrument for different tube sizes and plate formats. Therefore, laboratories across South Africa can use a single compact system for multiple applications while maintaining affordability and efficient bench space usage.
Overview
The Vertex Analytical Dry Bath Shaking Incubator range is designed for laboratories that require controlled heating or cooling together with orbital mixing.
The shaking models support mixing speeds from 0–1500 rpm with low-profile modules and 0–800 rpm with high-profile modules. Consequently, users can optimise mixing conditions for different sample volumes and tube types.
The heating and cooling models operate from 15°C below ambient temperature up to 100°C, while heating-only configurations operate from ambient temperature to 100°C. In addition, the systems provide temperature stability of ±0.5°C, helping laboratories maintain reliable incubation conditions during routine operation.
Heating, Cooling, and Shaking in One System
The Dry Bath Shaking Incubator combines multiple laboratory functions within a compact instrument. Therefore, laboratories can reduce the need for separate incubators, shakers, and cooling blocks.Programmable Multi-Step Operation
Selected models support programmable operation from P1 to P9. Users can store temperature, shaking speed, and timing settings for repetitive workflows. As a result, laboratories can improve consistency between runs while reducing manual adjustments.Automatic Module Recognition
The system automatically identifies installed modules and adjusts the maximum shaking speed accordingly. Consequently, users can change between low and high modules without manually reconfiguring operating limits.Optional Heated Lid
An optional heated lid is available for low-profile modules. The insulated magnetic lid helps reduce condensation formation on tube caps and walls during incubation. In addition, stable heating conditions can help support sensitive enzyme and molecular biology applications.Compact Benchtop Design
With dimensions of approximately 265 × 190 × 150 mm, the instrument fits easily into crowded laboratory environments. Therefore, the system suits universities, diagnostic laboratories, research facilities, and industrial laboratories that require efficient use of workspace.Compatible Modules
The Dry Bath Shaking Incubator range supports interchangeable modules for multiple sample formats. Because the modules are interchangeable, laboratories can adapt the system for different workflows without purchasing multiple dedicated instruments.Applications
